About

Established in 1989, Black Child Development Institute (BCDI)-Sacramento coordinates community programs and initiatives, throughout the city of Sacramento and surrounding areas.  Through partnerships with local agencies and initiatives, we are focused on 3 key areas: early care and education, literacy, and health and wellbeing.

Our mission is to improve and advance the quality of life for Black children and families in Sacramento and the surrounding communities, through education, advocacy, and partnerships.

From 1989 to Present

Established in 1989, the Black Child Development Institute (BCDI)-Sacramento was established to support, advocate and advance strategies and polices impacting the lives of Black children and their families. Throughout our 30+ years, we have been committed to developing partnerships and programs that strengthen our families and community.
